The gunners continued to climb the table and gain momentum after the 1-0 victory over Birmingham at Highbury on Sunday afternoon. They are looking more solid at the back now that big Sol is back and Henry being out may not be such a bad thing this early in the season, as it will allow the other strikers to get their eye in before he gets back.
Also cruising in Europe with two wins from two, the 2-1 victory last week away at Ajax was an important one for the confidence of the team. It was a cool, calm performance where the players did what was required to win the game and no more.
I think Chelsea will be a bit too much to handle this season, and this could be a good time to give the Champions League a real crack, any one of 8 teams could win it this year and we are one of them. And lets face it, if yawnmeisters Liverpool can win the biggest prize in Club Football why can't the team that plays the best football win it?

I hate to play Devils Advocate but you have to look at how Arsenal barely got the win against 10 Man Birmingham, who were unlucky not to come away with something.
Arsenal obviously miss the presence of Viera who controlled from the centre and was the backbone, but without Henri you are out of ideas how to score. That was shown as it took a deflected goal to beat the brummies ...
You look a different team to when you went on that unbeaten run, where u played flowing football and looked unbeatable! I hope you can get back there and challenge the blues before it's too late this season.

I don't know mate, The sending off ruined the game as a spectacle, as it always does. From that moment on Brum' were happy to sit back and try and frustrate us for a point which is fair enough. We would have had a cricket score by the end of the game if Taylor didn't have the game of his life in goal for them, we had 11 shots on target and we were lucky to squeeze one past him, and I think only a goal like that would have beaten Taylor that day.
Our football was much better though and we are beginning to look like a solid unit again, yes Vieira is a big miss but we just have to get on with things and some of the other players like Reyes, Hleb and Fabregas are going to have to step up this season and show something special. I don't agree that we are out of ideas how to score without Henry either, our approach play and passing has been sharp, decisive and at times breathtaking, the only problem is that we need a Van Nistlerooy, Shevchenko or even an Owen to put the ball in the back of the net, we rely too much on the runners from midfield (Ljungberg, Fabregas, Pires) and when they are not making their runs thats when we look out of ideas because we don't have a target man to relieve pressure or offer an easy outlet.
Either way I do hope we can go on a run of some kind. As I said I think Chelski will take the Premiership home again so I'm banking on a run in the Champions League this year. But thats definatly my heart ruling my head!

I hope you are right
In my opinion you cannot judge Arsenal on that performance as they were playing a 10 man team for most of the game. Whatever way you look at it they were always going to appear dominant with the extra man. Against West Ham you were limited to shots outside of the penalty box.
If Arsenals play has been "breathtaking" then I would have to say so was ours against Villa and Fulham, but it is not a word I would use to describe any match I have seen so far this year.
