Greetings!
And so it's Tuesday. Another day closer to the weekend. I'm trying to decide if I should buy a DVD recorder or the season 1-4 boxset of 24 this coming weekend. The DVD recorder would come in mighty handy in my room, but 24 is just SOOO good. Hmmm, well I have a few days left to ponder I guess.
So my buddy RJN should be in The BIG Apple struddle now. Hopefully he and Dommi, (his Girlfriend Colette), are having a good time so far.
Times Square, where RJN lurks He might be chilling somewhere looking like this
So last night was quite nice and relaxing for me. I was still pretty tired from the weekend, (and still am), so I stayed in and chilled in my room. Also it was Hell's Kitchen USA last night and as I'm sure you all know by now, that is one of my favourite things to watch at the moment, (with so many more of those types of programs coming up soon!!!)
Ok here's an update on HK last night, it's a spoiler if you haven't seen it, so HIGHLIGHT TO READ:
Last nights Hell's Kitchen was excellent once again. As the Blue Team lost last week, they had the punishment of washing ALL the dishes for both teams, pots and pans and all sorts! Needless to say, they were NOT happy about this as there was tons of it!
The Red Team got the prize which was an afternoon out, wine tasting with Gordon. Looked like they had an excellent time to and a bit to drink.
Then when they arrived back, the Blue Team were still doing the washing, suddenly Ramsay told them all to get their jackets on and meet in the dining area. Gone was his fun demeanour from the wine tasting and back was the stern head chef. He had a suprise for them.
"Tonight, for the first time on Hell's Kitchen... then menu's are yours." Basically each team had to make their own menu up and their menu's would be going head to head with each other. So each team went off to their rooms and had to work out what food was going on their menu.
The Red Team approached this the right way, they got together and discussed their strengths and what each member of the team could bring to the table.
The Blue Team on the other hand didn't do it the right way, more to the point, RALPH on the Blue Team didn't do it the right way. See where as the Reds discussed things, the Blues tried to, but Ralph just rubbished all their ides and just said, no we'll do this, or that, each thing being one of HIS recipe's.
So now it was time, the teams had to prepare all the food but the Blue's had another part of their punishment to come, (for losing the last time), so Gordon put a code lock on their store room which is where their chickens were kept. He said the code, once and once only. Luckily for them they got it and opened it, however, it was an auto lock so Andy decided to put masking tape over the lock to keep it opened. He got caught by one of Ramsay's head chef's who gave him an absolute bollocking!
Now the customer's were in and they had to do their things. Well the Blue team were struggling to cook their fish dish, Andy had suggested a fish dish which was his speciality and Ralph had said no and given him a different fish recipe that he didn't know how to cook properly. A recipe for disaster!
So when the evening was done, strangley it turned out that The Blues had served up more thant the Reds, people thought their menu sounded more appealing. However, the Blues also had a lot of main courses returned. As you all know, I'm a Michael fan, I want him to win. Not only is he good at what he does, but there's an edge to him, he's playing the game and trying to eliminate his competition. Just going back a bit, did you notice at the begining of the episode where Ralph says to him, after Chris's dismisal, "I learned an important lesson tonight." I don't think he was talking about the fact that experienced chefs could go, although that was part of it, I think he meant he learned something about Michael there. Think back, don't you agree?
So Ramsay said The Red Team won as the feedback from customers was excellent, he also said to Michael that his maincourses were outstanding! And so once again, they were the winners and the Blues had lost and looked quite dejected.
Jessica had performed the best from their team and was given the task of nominating ONE person, Andy or Ralph. Well that's a hard position to be in. Ramsay asked Andy whos idea it was to serve that fish dish, Andy said what he would like to have served but that Ralph had suggested that it wouldn't have been right. Ramsay said, "So it was Ralph's idea?" Andy said yes, but did it in a way as if to say he wasn't trying to dump Ralph in it, although really he was. Cut to shot of Michael... big grin. Ramsay asked Ralph and instead of taking responsability, Ralph said, "It was a team choice".
This was an out right lie.
So Jess discussed with the others what was going on and Andy was saying how it sucked that Ralph wouldn't accept the blame. Michael started to agree with Andy in an attempt to sway Jess, however, Jess's loyalty to Ralph held out and she nominated Andy. I too thought that Ralph should have been nominated as it was him who forced his recipe's on the rest of the team and wouldn't allow them to have their items on the menu.
Well let me just say for a minute there I thought Ramsay was gonna change things. Michael's face dropped when Andy was called forward, Ralph is his main competition, but then Ramsay said, "I'm in charge here and it's my decision, Ralph, step forward as well!" Michael grinned.
Then Ramsay asked why each should stay and basically made them plead their cases and then the dismissal...
Andy. It sucked because this week I didn't feel that he deserved to go. In past weeks I have but not this time. And so Michael's main competition is still there. Gordon warned Ralph that he was lucky and now we have to wait a whole week for the next part! GRRR!
Spoiler End.
So for the past couple of days we've been playing Monopoly at work, what a great way to kill afternoons eh?
I was EXTREMELY happy this afternoon when I got an email from 'A' who sent me her new address for her work email and we have chatted ever since. So it's good to know that she thought to send it to me! )
That really did brighten up my day so hopefully I'll have a good evening although I smoked a Q of skunk over the past couple of days and I've run out now! It sucks but I don't wanna buy anymore for a while cos I can't afford it. I wish that it just grew here.
Right, I'm outta things to write to you ingrates. Hopefully I can enjoy a nice relaxing evening tonight again and find something fun to watch. I really wanna buy that new version of Appleseed on DVD. Maybe at the weekend. Oooh I have a question...
What should J buy at the weekend?
